Do's and Don'ts
Do: Be courteous, positive, and respectful to all members. Be especially welcoming and helpful to new members-- you were new once too! Keep the tone positive and upbeat, the content family-friendly and appropriate, and music videos rated G. Do keep personal info to a minimum--first names and general locations are okay.
Don't: Spam, Troll, Or flame, (Spamming includes repeated posts, some advertising, and cross-posting over multiple forums.) Please do not post any music videos or other content that isn't family friendly. Please don't participate in drama, or discuss moderation on the forum. Do not violate copyright laws, or post anything that does. Don't discuss illegal activity. Don't post any personal info--just not a good online safety practice.
Regarding the Shoutbox chat system
The shoutbox is not meant to take the place of the forums, it is to provide the members with a place to aimlessly chat. Musical topics should be posted on the forums, not discussed in chat, please. But on the other hand, asking things like "How are you?" "Where have you been?" should be discussed in chat.
Regarding reporting posts.
If you think a post does not adhere to these guidelines, by all means report it to the staff. Do not worry about overusing reports, it's just a way of saying "You guys might want to keep an eye on this..." to the staff.
Regarding Advertisement
If you have a forum you run, a website, or a blog, you may post a link to it in your signature, or put a banner in your signature. Otherwise, do not start threads about it, and only post links to it if the discussion is relevant. If you have a music forum/website, we ask that you do not post any links to it unless there is a question directly related to a post there.
Regarding multiple accounts
please notify flutist if you wish to make a second account--this is fine if you have one, but the site staff need to know for moderation purposes. If you have a family member or friend that will log on from the same computer or internet connection from time to time, let us know, please--the IP address will be identical and we will think you have created a second account. It is probably best if you identify your second account as yourself to not create confusion.
If these guidelines are not followed, the staff reserve the right to edit and/or delete posts and/or suspend your account. All staff decisions are final and not to be discussed in open forum.
If you think a staff member has made a mistake, e-mail us. If you want to e-mail the forum staff, it is tunesandlyricsforum@gmail.com
